6 Signs That Your Friends May Be Green With Envy

God has been showing me for a while now why certain people ignore certain posts and things that portray the accomplishments God is giving us in ministry…. Well, here are six indications of that nasty character trait that we call jealousy: (Will Post Verses at the end)
Lack of encouragement
We’ve all had those moments where you’re extremely excited to announce something new, only for you to tell your friend and their response is “Oh okay.” Not even a “That sounds great” or “Good job” from your so-called best friend. Lack of encouragement or lack of support is a sign that your friend is jealous of you. Sometimes a friend’s lack of support is so obvious that it would even make a sarcastic “Good for you” comment seem good.
Copying you or trying to upstage you
There is nothing more annoying then buying a brand new pair of designer jeans, only to discover your friend has bought the exact same pair the next day. Sometimes they’ll even take it to the next level by getting something more expensive than yours. Are they just an admirer of your style or is the green-eyed monster rearing its ugly head? Sounds like the latter…
Tears you down and sometimes pessimistic
There is nothing worse than a friend who constantly tears you down or criticizes you about everything. You come up with a new idea, and they give you every excuse in the book about why you shouldn’t be doing that. Sometimes they will even attack your character by maybe calling you a bad parent or telling you that you’re selfish. Or they say you are filled with pride for wanting to do something for God… They try to make you look bad by saying you should not need a pat on the back.. And….. when they don’t get their pat on the back, they cry… These are just a few examples, but you get the point…
Craves attention from your peers
Ever experience a friend adding a lot of your friends on Facebook to their own list? This comes after only saying hi to your friend once if they’ve even said anything at all… sounds like someone is jealous of your popularity and wants your friends for themselves.
Disappearing or shying away
Have you ever experienced trying to make plans with a friend and suddenly they’re always too busy or don’t even call you back altogether. All of a sudden they never want to hang out anymore. Sometimes when people are jealous, they would rather stay away then face the fact that they feel bad about themselves in your presence. They are not there on the big events…
Doesn’t give you credit or creates excuses for your success
This type of jealousy usually occurs when you tell your friend about something and for everything thing you say, they always have a “Me too.” Sometimes they’ll even say something like “That’s so easy to get.” By diminishing what you’ve done, or drawing attention to an equal experience of their own, they will succeed in making sure they feel better about themselves. Once again, jealousy at it’s finest moment. We have even had some to say that they have been with us every step of the way as if they were the ones who created our success and they were really only around and involved in part of what we do…

“For I can see that you are full of bitter jealousy and are held captive by sin.”
Acts 8:17 (NLT)
“Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness,
not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.”
Romans 13:13 (ESV)
“For while there is jealousy and strife among you,
are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?”
1 Corinthians 3:3 (ESV)
“…idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes,
dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you,
that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Galatians 5:20-21 (NASB)

“Surely resentment destroys the fool, and jealousy kills the simple.”
Job 5:2 (NLT)
“For jealousy makes a man furious, and he will not spare
when he takes revenge.”
Proverbs 6:34 (ESV)
“Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?”
Proverbs 27:4 (ESV)
“Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death, its jealousy as enduring as the grave.
Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame.”
Song of Solomon 8:6 (NLT)
“For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man ‘unclean’.”
Mark 7:21-23 (NIV)
“These patriarchs were jealous of their brother Joseph,
and they sold him to be a slave in Egypt. But God was with him.”
Acts 7:9 (NLT)
There will be MANY more posts coming as we expose this evil demon in the church and in ministries..

Galatians 5:26 – Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

1 Peter 2:1 – Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

Proverbs 24:1 – Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

Here is the real reason why they start and stop things and NO spiritual fruit in anything……
James 3:16 – For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.

1 Peter 2:1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

As I Said, there will be much more coming later… The Lord has told us to expose this and to stand against it firmly as we pursue unity in the Last Days Church of Jesus Christ……

The Psychological Way or The Way Of The Cross ?

Which will you choose. You cannot have both. They are tremendously opposed to each other. You will have to choose which worldview you will hold to.

In this blog, I am not going to attempt to give you the history of modern day psychology. I am simply going to highlight some of the contrasts between these two divergent paths; The psychological way vs The Way Of The Cross. Modern day psychotherapy has its roots in atheism, evolution, and humanism. Sadly, most denominations in modern Christianity have opted for the psychological way and have cast aside the way of the Cross.

The Bible holds ALL the answers of human behavior 2Peter 1:3
Psychology also claims to hold all the answers of human behavior.
The Bible tells us that man is an eternal soul St John 3:16
Psychology has as its foundation, evolution.
The Bible says that man is a sinner Romans 3:23
Psychology says that man is a victim.

The Bible says that the problem of man is an evil heart (Jer. 17:9) and that man is inherently evil.
Psychology says that the problem is man’s environment and man is inherently good.
The Message of the Cross treats the very depths; the very core of man’s problem, the heart. (Ez. 36:26-27, Eph 3:17, etc….)
Psychology treats only mans symptoms.
The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the answer (St. Matt. 11: 28-30)
Psychology says that therapy and “professional help” is the answer. Most psychology “professionals” will denigrate Faith and say that the minister of the Gospel is not qualified to help humanity.

The Bible tells us to deny self and crucify the flesh ( Matt. 16:24, Gal. 5:24).
Psychology says we should love “self” and pamper “flesh”.
The Bible directs us to the Cross, which assures us the help of the Holy Spirit.
Psychology directs us to the flesh.
The Bible directs us to Faith in God (Mark 11:22).
Psychology directs us to self effort.
Self cannot improve upon self. Remember that.

The Word of God, The Bible, Leads us into repentance (Acts 26:20) and restoration (Gal 6:1).
Psychology offers only remorse and referral.
The Bible IS TRUTH….
Psychology is mere, mortal, flawed mans opinions.
The Bible says that God’s truth is unchangeable (Psalm 119:89).
Psychology says that truth is determined by the majority and by culture.

There are many, many more contrasts that I could list for you but the bottom line is this; One simply cannot believe in the Bible and the message of the Cross; at least not as one ought, and also believe in psychology. It can’t be done.
If you as a believer put your trust in anything other than Christ and Him Crucified, no matter how well intentioned, you are committing spiritual adultery. Rom 7.

Psychology puts man as the center of all things. Our Faith, from the Bible, puts Christ as the center and the ONLY answer for man. The two cannot be joined. Preachers of the Gospel who attempt to join the two will help no one. The only true help that is available is found in the word of God which is The Message Of The Cross….

Keep The Main Thing The Main Thing

The message of the Bible is the message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

It seems however, that much of the modern church little recognizes this all important truth.
Todays seeker sensitive pulpiteer looks much more like an Amway salesman or motivational guru than any of the prophets of old. On any given Sunday, one can hear a most excellent little talk on ” How to improve thyself” but precious little Gospel truth about the real need of mankind, which simply stated is that our sins have separated us from our God and the only remedy is for each of us to be washed in the blood of Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Paul said in 1 Cor 1:17-18
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel; not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the Preaching of the Cross is to them who perish foolishness: but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

We as preachers are not called to give self help talks. We are called to declare the fact that men are sinners and God loves them and has provided a way for all to be saved, at least all who come God’s way. And that way is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. To preach anything else is to violate the sacred trust of the call.

So, preacher friend of mine, let us join together in calling America and the World back to the Cross of Christ.
Let us plead with men and women, boys and girls, to repent of their sins and run into the open arms of the savior today.

working on a new series about “How David treated Saul as opposed to How Absalom Moved against David.”

The Absalom spirit always tries to draw the hearts of the people from established (by God) leadership by saying “If I were judging over the people, I would do better”. This is so sadly evident in churches today.

Working on a new message called “How Well Do You Take Correction?”. One of the hardest things for a pastor to deal with is when people do not listen to Godly counsel from the word of God. Many who claim to be teachable show differently when you challenge a direction they are going or a claim they make. This will be a controversial message.

one of the qualifications for the minister in 1 Timothy 3 is to be ‘vigilant’. Vigilant in the Greek is ‘nephalion’ and means “to be calm, dispassionate, and circumspect.” “Wise caution” may be included. This tells us that the call on ones life will prevent them from crying, whining, complaining, and getting upset every time someone opposes them. Look to Christ Crucified…….

Pastors, beware of people who come in and right away can see “better ways” that you could run things.. If God has given you a vision; run it strong. Do not cowtow.

The church needs no more superficial “10 step guides” that skims above the surface of thought and satisfaction and victory….. The deep things of God is the message of the Cross and that will promote real change in your life.

I have no interest in a watered down Gospel or a seeker-driven pragmatism of the modern church growth movement……… Just give me the Word, The Blood, and the power of the Holy Spirit… Give me the message of the Cross….. Just give me JESUS………………………….

when I was first saved (1981) some of the qualities the Holy Spirit gave birth to were: 1-When you say something; mean it.. 2- when you commit to something; follow through and 3- if you give your word; keep it… Folks, all these years later, the Holy Spirit has not changed… . these are qualities from the word…

The main message of the church is not to be ‘ We’re a nice, pretty place; you’ll like us.’ Rather the message should be ‘ This is a Holy place where sin is despised and if you will embrace Jesus Christ and Him Crucified, you will have victory over sin.’

The day will probably start out like any other; business as usual on planet earth. But then, as jagged forks of lightning rip through the eastern sky; a trumpet will sound in the heavens and we will be translated in the twinkling of an eye. Meeting Jesus in the air… Its gonna happen; ready or not……

Only The Blood

Sinners were crying, lost on their way.
Souls were dying, trying to find escape.
The price of redemption was blood sacrifice.
So on Calvary’s altar, Jesus died.

And only the Blood, only the Blood
Can save the sinner’s soul and set him free.
No other power can bring hope to man.
Only the Blood, the Blood of the Lamb.

I deserve judgment for the crime of sin.
God gave His son and judgment began.
A hammer and three nails
Beat out mercies sound.
So I could go free as the blood flowed down

Only the blood, only the blood
Can save the sinner’s soul and set him free
No other power can bring hope to man
Only the Blood, the Blood of the Lamb.

No other power, can bring hope to man
Only the Blood, the Blood of the Lamb.

Thank God for Salvation through the Blood Of Jesus.
The Only hope for a darkened and lost world..

A Sturdy Savior

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (John 5:24)

And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40)

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

Jesus taught the necessity of personal Faith for Salvation…….

When Missionary John Paxton (a cousin from my direct line) landed in the New Hebrides in the 1800’s he began translating the New Testament for the inhabitants. He was somewhat perplexed on how to communicate the concept of ‘Believe’ to them due to the language barrier. So one day he leaned back on a chair and saw that that simple act– is one concept of believe.. To Place Your Entire weight upon something! He did not use a broken down chair but one that was strong and sturdy… Why? The answer is obvious. The object of your faith (believing) is very important… Friends, as Christians we do not serve a decrepit savior but One who is strong and Sturdy.. One who has defeated every power of Hell at the Cross.. As we put all our weight on Him He will hold us up in the storms of our lives….

10 Things I Feel Strongly About

10 Things I Feel Strongly About.

This note today is in response to someone who asked me to list a bunch of stuff about myself. It is hard for me but I can easily talk about things that are important to me instead.1) The Message of the Cross is important to me and I feel very strongly about it because in 1981 God saved me from a life of drug addiction, alcohol, and ambitions to make it “big” in the country music world. Jesus Christ saved my soul from Hell because He died and shed His blood on the Cross. This is the only message that is truth. Salvation and Sanctification by faith in the finished work of Christ upon the cross..

2)Fulfilling the call of God on my heart and life is something I feel very strongly about. When I first got saved there were many times when even my own family did not understand nor approve of some of the things I felt called to give up in order to get where God wanted me to be.But none of that matters. I must obey only the Lord. Now, all these many years later, every member of my immeadiate family has given their hearts to Christ. Stay faithful.

3) My marriage is something I am passionate about. Angie and I have been through alot together and we are best friends. Helping others to see that they can make it in their marriages if both partners will meet at the cross, is something I am committed too. Jesus Christ can heal any marriage if both partners will meet Him at the cross.

4) keeping our Christian heritage alive and vibrant for the next generation is something I wish to be deeply involved in.. The youth are our future leaders and we need to invest in them spiritually as well as in other ways.. This is why I urge the church to repent of apostasy and get back to a pure Christian message; Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

5) Living a prudent and simple life is close to my heart. I recoil at excessive and extravagant lifestyles of some in the ministry.I believe God wants to bless us to be a blessing. Not to hoard everything for ourselves.

6) I detest the wasting of food. My wife and I are active with several missionaries feeding people in foreign lands, who barely have enough to live on while we throw enough in dumpsters to easily feed the world. Shame on us. My Dad always taught not to let my eyes be bigger than my belly. And I add to that, do not be a belly creature… Do not let your stomach dictate your life and do not live for your fleshly appetites.

7) I want to make doubly certain that Jesus receives ALL the glory for anything accomplished in and through my short life here on earth. Everyday, going to the cross to lay down to the death any ego, pride, self, etc… that could possibly rob Him of His glory. This may sound simple but oh boy, what a struggle some days.

8) trying to be understanding of others who are in this sanctification process at various different levels and not being too critical of them is a challenge I face every day. We all have a long way to go to get where God wants us to be and as long as you believe it is all by faith and grace; that Jesus accomplished it at the cross; we can walk together. None of us need grace because we are perfect. We all need grace because we are not.

9) Giving to the true work of the Lord is something I am passionate about. God loves a cheerful giver. God wants us to help whenever we can and to share what we have with those less fortunate, as He enables.

10) Making the most of every precious moment of life on earth.. LIFE IS SHORT BUT ETERNITY IS LONG……Love someone today who is unlovable.. Take the time to enjoy the mountains, lakes, forests, rivers, and cities… Smell the roses so to speak… Every rose has a thorn but the sure smell sweet and are beautiful. So is life in Jesus Christ.

I know this doesn’t answer your question but it is a little bit of my heart……
