I Choose To Live In Peace

Dear Friends,
We have finally kicked off the fall season of ministry…. Yes, I know that technically its still summer, but I run my fall season as Sept. thru Nov…..

As we head out for a busy time on the road I want to leave you with some powerful thoughts on Peace….

First of all, as believers we need to realize that God is not mad at us.. In Romans 5:1 it says this ““Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”
We have Peace with God and need to learn to walk in the Peace of God….

When you need peace, God promises to provide a peace that passes understanding. The best thing you can do when you are filled with anxiety and worry is to find a quiet place to pray, read Scripture, and listen to encouraging worship music. God wants you to have a life lived to the fullest and that includes being at peace!

Also, Its time to distance yourself from those who do not value the anointing of God on your life…. You still love them, Pray for them, help them when and if God gives the open door and you can, but walk consistently with those who build you up in your faith and calling…. Live as much a drama free life as you can in the presence of Jesus… Jesus is so beautiful… He Loves and values you……….

Here are just a few helpful verses on Peace:

2 Thessalonians 3:16 – Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord [be] with you all.

John 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Philippians 4:6 – Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Isaiah 26:3 – Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.

1 Peter 5:7 – Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Matthew 5:9 – Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Romans 12:18 – If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Matthew 10:34-36 – Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. (Read More…)

1 Peter 3:11 – Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

Romans 15:13 – Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Hebrews 12:14 – Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Psalms 4:8 – I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

Proverbs 12:20 – Deceit [is] in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace [is] joy.

Isaiah 12:2 – Behold, God [is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH [is] my strength and [my] song; he also is become my salvation.

1 Corinthians 14:33 – For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Make the quality decision today: I Choose To Live in Peace…. You don’t have to be mad and offended to choose to walk with those who appreciate what God is doing in your life and distance yourself from those who create drama and do not really believe in the vision God gave you… Just obey the Word… Pay them little attention except to pray for them. LIVE IN PEACE… Only you can make that choice for your life…

Because this life is all about JESUS you are free to live to please only JESUS and let others do, say, and think what they so desire.. God will send you people who care and who build you up..
No circumstance can steal Gods Peace in you either.. That can be very hard at times but God will give us His precious Grace that leads to His Peace…..

As for Me, I choose to Live in Peace… I choose to allow the circumstances of my life to be used by God for HIS Glory.. I choose to spend my time with the Lord and with those who value what He is doing in my life and ministry… I choose to decrease while Jesus increases in me.. I choose to Glorify God by living a joyful and peaceful, happy life…..
Philippians 4:7 refers to “the peace of God which transcends all understanding.” Most of Paul’s letters began with the words “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Peace is a state of tranquility or quietness of spirit that transcends circumstances. The term peace is described in Scripture as a gift from God and congruent with His character (1 Thessalonians 5:23; Galatians 6:16; 1 Peter 1:2; Hebrews 13:20).

If God is peace, then to know God is to bask in His peace. The closer we draw to Him, the more of His peace we can enjoy (James 4:8). God gives us clear instructions about how to draw near to Him. Psalm 24:3–4 says, “Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.” But Scripture is also clear that we cannot make ourselves clean enough or pure enough to earn the presence of the Lord (Romans 3:10, 23). So how do we draw near enough to experience His peace? Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” (John 14:27). We come into the presence of the Lord through His Son (John 14:6). When we allow Jesus’ death and resurrection to purchase our forgiveness from God, we are counted as righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). Our sins are forgiven because Jesus already paid the price for them. Only then can we have peace with God (Romans 4:5; 5:1; 1 John 4:10).

When we develop a lifestyle of making the Lord our refuge, we begin to live in the peace of God (Psalm 46:1; 62:8). Psalm 91:1 holds the secret to living in the peace of God: “He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” That secret place in our hearts is where we go to meet with God. When we choose to live there and hide away under His shadow, staying in constant communion with Him, we can remain peaceful, even when circumstances may not be. When we learn to cry out to Him in times of trouble, we find that His peace really does pass all human understanding (Philippians 4:7).

a keen observation

I try to be a keen observer, though i often do fall quite short. After watching, listening, and learning: here is what i told a crowd the other night in service……. I would rather have a letter than a dollar bill… I would rather have a phone call than a bank account… The hamburger of a real friend than the steak dinner of a casual enemy… the embrace of an aquaintance overwhelmed with emotion than the indifferent “umm mh” of someone with you a long time… etc. etc. Lets Celebrate life instead of dreading the road ahead of us…. Genuine interest can go a long way in pointing the right direction to those along the way.

One of the blights of the modern church is MacDonald faith; Microwave Instant blessings… We often want what we want and we want it now…. I’ve learned through the years that seldom does God operate like that… Oh He can, and sometimes He Does. But often there is a growth process called Wait: I have had to wait and tarry in prayer for the salvation of souls in the meetings (I have no idea how many through the years but over a thousand in the past 3 years, Ah Practice.) I have sometimes had to tarry and wait in His presence for my own personal needs…. Generally I ask no one but the Lord… And He has never let me down!! Waiting on God may be the hardest thing in the world sometimes, but if you think about it, He’s the only one worth waiting on. Trust Him. It’ll be worth your wait…….

The Lamb will rule in the heart of His church! As we daily lay aside self, flesh, offense, and cast all our cares upon Jesus: we reach new plateaus of holiness and Christ likeness.. Together, we grow up into the fullness of Christ and then we see Him as He is more and more.. Together we run faster and grow the gifts He has placed in each us.. This season of Advent we get the realization of the meaning behind it all : We are waiting— He is coming.. wherever you are today; He is coming!!!

Trust God

I really dislike being in a position where the choices of others put my future and well being in jeopardy, don’t you?

In Psalm 31 we read some powerful and encouraging words..

In You, O Lord, I put my trust;
Let me never be ashamed;
Deliver me in Your righteousness.
Bow down Your ear to me,
Deliver me speedily;
Be my rock of refuge,
A fortress of defense to save me.

For You are my rock and my fortress;
Therefore, for Your name’s sake,
Lead me and guide me.
Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my strength.
Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

I have hated those who regard useless idols;
But I trust in the Lord.
I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy,
For You have considered my trouble;
You have known my soul in adversities,
And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy;
You have set my feet in a wide place.

Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am in trouble;
My eye wastes away with grief,
Yes, my soul and my body!
10 For my life is spent with grief,
And my years with sighing;
My strength fails because of my iniquity,
And my bones waste away.
11 I am a reproach among all my enemies,
But especially among my neighbors,
And am repulsive to my acquaintances;
Those who see me outside flee from me.
12 I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind;
I am like a broken vessel.
13 For I hear the slander of many;
Fear is on every side;
While they take counsel together against me,
They scheme to take away my life.

14 But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your face shine upon Your servant;
Save me for Your mercies’ sake.
17 Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You;
Let the wicked be ashamed;
Let them be silent in the grave.
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence,
Which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

19 Oh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men!
20 You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence
From the plots of man;
You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion
From the strife of tongues.

21 Blessed be the Lord,
For He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city!
22 For I said in my haste,
“I am cut off from before Your eyes”;
Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications
When I cried out to You.

23 Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints!
For the Lord preserves the faithful,
And fully repays the proud person.
24 Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the Lord.

I don’t know about you guys but this Psalm encourages my heart.. It tells us that we can trust the Lord even when those closest to us let us down… When adversaries make our lives miserable we dont have to stay miserable….. We can call out to the Lord.. God will never let us down… No matter what you are going through, put your trust in God….

Praying With Purpose And Power part 5

There is no doubt that we are living in very difficult times. The coming of the Lord is near, and Jesus said that there would be an increase of all things difficult. { see Matthew 24}
Jesus had a concern, that as sorrows and difficult times increased, many people would lose their love for the Lord, many would stop praying and persisting in their walks with God. As a result, many would weaken in faith. Jesus asked this question,”when the Son of man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”[ Luke 18:8]

I find that when people go through crisis situations they call out to God. Its too bad that people do not practice a life of prayer, so when the crisis comes they are well grounded in trust and thereby better equipped to handle any crisis that comes. When the crisis comes, we still pray; of course. But in the midst of a crisis emotions are high, bodies are weaker and the voices of advice are many. It is harder to sift out the godly path if we are in the middle of a mess and unprepared in prayer.
If we are walking and talking with God daily, God can give us warnings about which person to receive counsel from– when to say no to a child– when to say yes to a business deal, etc. In fact, God may have been trying to get you alone for awhile. God knows the road ahead and He wants you to make it through. But hear me now, THERE IS NO WAY TO MAKE IT THROUGH APART FROM GOD’S PLAN. We must hear from God. We must be in daily prayer. Not when we feel like it, Daily Prayer…

Many people I know are just plain lazy. They have plenty of time to run around town and even convince themselves they need to.
They have plenty of time to gossip on the phone and watch tv. They have plenty of time for fishing and sports. But the poor souls just don’t have time to pray and study the word of God. I feel sorry for them because the days we are coming into will demand more than that from true believers. The scripture tells us, ” Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”[ 1 Peter 5:8] Satan is our enemy and he is on the prowl. He is after our faith. He wants to destroy our lives in every capacity. The weapon he will often use to work against us is deception. We must draw close to God in these last days. Scripture goes on to say, ” Whom[satan] resist steadfast in the faith.” [1 Peter 5:9a] I will ask you, how can you resist the devil and how can you have growing faith if you are too busy for God?

The importance of praying with power cannot be taken lightly. Now, as we close this teaching, lets recap what we have said.
1- Pray daily. Practice praying without ceasing, in other words be constantly in an attitude of prayer.
2- Pray until you touch God. This is “praying through”
3- Do not be concerned about time– just learn to walk with God in communion. Build a close relationship with Him.
4- Pray not only for your needs but pray also for the things that God desires. Pray for others also.
5- Include worship, praise, and thanksgiving with your daily needs and requests.
6- When you don’t know what to pray, allow the Holy Spirit to pray through you.
7- Pray in faith. Faith is built through spending time in the Word of God and praying.
8- Your life of prayer will be a great source of strength and deliverance in the midst of crisis.

God, put in all of us a heart that is easily wooed to your presence. Help us to pray through all our trials to completion… to listen closely to Your Spirit in our secret time of communion with You…. and to put all our confidence in Your revealed Word. In these ways we can know that our prayers will be pleasing to you. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Lets not forget these verses in the book of Romans……

Romans 12:9-21 ESV

Marks of the True Christian

9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal,be fervent in spirit,serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope,be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another.Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you,live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved,never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 13:8-14 ESV

8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments,“You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

11 Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. 12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

ROMANS 14:13-23 ESV

Do Not Cause Another to Stumble

13 Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean. 15 For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died. 16 So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil. 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.

20 Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats. 21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble. 22 The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves. 23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

Everyone of these directives from the Word of God will, in addition to faith, require some type of action and activity from the child of God. We put our faith in Christ crucified and that brings us the help of the Holy Spirit to DO what we must DO in order to walk in this way…….Relationships in general involve work and those in the body of Jesus are no different. Proper faith will bring us the power of the Holy Spirit. We must continue to choose to do the right things and then trust His power to help us. Anything short of giving your best is to be irresponsible with the Grace of God……. The Victory comes through the Blood and empowers Holy living…….

The Focused Heart

Psalm 112:7-8 says ”He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon
his enemies.

The christian must keep his/her heart firmly fixed and focused on Jesus Christ and Him crucified at all times. When the storms of life assail the believer from all sides, the believer will come through each storm-provided they are maintaining their faith in the proper object,ie.. THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST……

All of mans self-help programs and humanistic psychology offer no lasting help and protection from lifes storms. our only, and i mean Only hope can be found in the finished work of Jesus Christ upon the cross of Calvary.

I am a human being as I suppose all of you to be as well, and sometimes my heart bleeds. When that happens for whatever reason, I fix my heart and hope on the cross. This gaze of true faith brings healing, help, and hope to the believer.

Our victory in life, despite circumstances, depends on what we have as the object of our faith. The Holy Spirit will help any believer who is trusting in what Jesus did at the cross. That in fact, is the only way the Holy Spirit can help the believer. If the child of God is trusting in their own strength and self-effort, the Holy Spirit cannot and will not aid in such.

Gods desire is that each of us as believers walk in total victory through the storms of life. He desires further that we focus our hearts on the cross of Calvary. This my dear friend is true,bible faith. On the cross, Jesus provided everything that you and I need in life. Peter tells us ” According as His Divine Power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and Godliness, through the knowledge of Him Who has called us to Glory and Virtue; Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and Precious Promises; that by these you might be partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” [2 Peter 1:3-4] All this is made possible by what Jesus did at the cross….

Evil tidings from the world around us should not put the believer in fear because we can be certain of the constant help of the Holy Spirit in our lives if our faith is properly placed in what Jesus did for us at Calvary
